About Us

Vlania’s Tres Leches and Pastelería began with a deep-rooted family tradition born in the heart of Ponce, Puerto Rico. Growing up, our founder, Tania Marrero González, celebrated every extended family birthday with a tres leches cake. It wasn’t just dessert—it was a ritual of love, gathering, and joy.

When Tania moved to the Midwest, USA, she found herself missing that connection. Tres leches wasn’t accessible where she lived, and the longing for that familiar comfort lingered. Later, she settled in Florida and began filling the gap in the sweetest way—by baking her own tres leches cakes. What began as a nostalgic gesture for her family became something much bigger.

With a Master's Degree in School Counseling, Tania spent eight meaningful years serving as a bilingual school counselor in Hillsborough County Public Schools. After a long and emotional 9-year battle with infertility, she stepped into a new and life-changing role: Mom. The birth of her son reignited her creativity and gave her the quiet space to reconnect with baking—this time with a twist.

She began experimenting with flavors, layering memories with innovation. Then came the flavor that changed everything: pistachio. Her sister-in-law was the first to say it out loud—this wasn’t just good; it was something special. It was a business waiting to be born.

Not long after, Tania registered her LLC, and Vlania’s Tres Leches and Pastelería was officially born.

Today, Vlania’s stands for more than cake. It’s about tradition, motherhood, resilience, and joy. It’s about the past and the present dancing together in every bite. Our cakes are thoughtfully crafted—each one made with intention, rooted in heritage, and infused with modern flair. We offer a rotating menu of flavors (with our signature vanilla always available), so there’s always something new to experience while honoring what’s timeless.

Vlania’s isn’t just a business—it’s a love letter to family, faith, and the flavors that shape us.

We’re here for the nostalgic hearts. The flavor chasers. The sweet seekers.

And we’re just getting started.
